57题误选C的同学主要是对ward off 这个短语理解不到位。
提示：按照朗文词典P1733的解释ward off = prevent, keep away something bad 。请注意，是“prevent防止”。文章中很明确地提到，黑匣子只能“record记录”，“withstand经受住”disaster，根本就没提到“防止”。
不选D选项的同学还有一个可能就是对indispensable理解不到位，误以为是“独立”的意思。其实indispensable是“必不可少”的意思。
