President Barack Obama says the country is beginning to turn the corner on unemployment. Speaking at a North Carolina manufacturing plant, Obama hailed the latest job numbers which show employers created 162,000 positions last month. “Still,” Obama says, “much work remains”.

Three men face murder charges in the stabbings of two Manhattan subway riders. Police say one of the men made statements implicating himself. The weekend stabbings occurred on the southbound No.2 train.

Dramatic video caught sound of shot fire in Chicago’s south side early Friday morning. The shots had officers scrambling. Police were on the scene investigating a shooting when more gunfire broke out.

A Turkish singer and song writer has broken the “Blind Speed World Record” for driving a car. Guinness World Records says he was aided by an escort car and a team member on the radio on which way to turn the steering wheel. The average is above 181 miles per hour.
