Sandra Bullock has presented the award for Foreign Language Film at this year's Oscars, using her speech to showcase her own linguistic skills.

"One quick note, as my mother spoke German to us as we were growing up, my Chinese has a very slight German accent."

The actress then launched into a speech - in German.

The award for foreign language film went to the Iranian film A Separation.
