Nearly ten years had passed since the Dursleys had woken up to find their nephew on the front step, but Privet Drive had hardly changed at all. The sun rose on the same tidy front gardens and lit up the brass number four on the Dursleys' front door; it crept into their living room, which was almost exactly the same as it had been on the night when Mr. Dursley had seen that fateful news report about the owls. Only the photographs on the mantelpiece really showed how much time had passed. Ten years ago, there had been lots of pictures of what looked like a large pink beach ball wearing different-colored bonnets — but Dudley Dursley was no longer a baby, and now the photographs showed a large blond boy riding his first bicycle, on a carousel at the fair, playing a computer game with his father, being hugged and kissed by his mother. The room held no sign at all that another boy lived in the house, too.

Yet Harry Potter was still there, asleep at the moment, but not for long. His Aunt Petunia was awake and it was her shrill voice that made the first noise of the day.

"Up! Get up! Now!"

Harry woke with a start. His aunt rapped on the door again.

"Up!" she screeched. Harry heard her walking toward the kitchen and then the sound of the frying pan being put on the stove. He rolled onto his back and tried to remember the dream he had been having. It had been a good one. There had been a flying motorcycle in it. He had a funny feeling he'd had the same dream before.

哈利被惊醒了。他的姨妈又在拍打他的房门。

“起来!”她尖叫道。哈利听见她朝厨房走去，接着就是煎锅放到炉子上的声音。他翻身背对着门，尽力回忆刚才做过的梦。那是一个好梦。梦里有一辆会飞的摩托车。他感到很有趣，似乎以前也做过同样的梦。

主要知识点：

1.   creep：

creep的意思笼统说来就是“爬”，后面接的介词根据之后的词而变换不同。比如说：
1）Johann would creep into the gallery to listen to the singers.（约翰会悄悄溜进楼座去听歌手唱歌。）
2）He crept back up the stairs, trying to avoid the ones that creaked.（他蹑手蹑脚地回到楼上，尽量避开会嘎吱作响的几级楼梯。）
有的时候，用creep作比喻，也很形象。比如：
Oldage creeps up on you before you realize it.（人不知不觉地就变老了。）

2.   start：

这里的start和我们平时经常使用的动词start（开始）不一样，作为名词，它除了可以表示“启程，起跑线”的意思以外，还可以表示“sudden quick movement of surprise, fear, etc.（因惊奇、恐惧等）震动”的意思。通常用的搭配是“with a start”以及“give sb a start”，比如说：
1）Ted woke up with a start and felt for the light switch.（特德猛然惊醒过来，摸索着找电灯开关。）
2）The sound of footsteps gave me quite a start.（脚步声吓了我一大跳。）

3. rap:

rap在这里表示“敲，打”，其实它隐含了“hit lightly”的意思。比如说：
She rapped the table with her pen and called for silence.（她用钢笔轻敲桌子，要求安静。）
常用的词组有“rap at / on”，比如说：rapping loudly on the door（大声敲门） 

4. roll:

上次貌似已经说过一个roll over了，今天咱直接来说roll这个词吧。
翻开字典，roll的意思一长串啊内牛……单就文中的意思来说，它表示“to turn your body over one or more times while lying down（打滚，翻身）”的意思。接续的介词也根据后续单词的不同而不同，比如说：
1）The dog had been rolling in mud puddles.（那条狗一直在泥坑里打滚。）
2）Ralph rolled onto his stomach.（拉尔夫翻身趴下。）
至于文中“He rolled onto his back”为嘛会翻译成“他翻身背对着门”……小编也不得其解……跪求解释囧
