不要因为“原版书”几个字而感到压力大，《哈利·波特》的原版小说其实并不难，我们一起学习，一起讨论，循序渐进，啃完一本书不是问题！（点我 回顾上期节目>>>）

"It's — it's true ?" faltered Professor McGonagall. "After all he's done… all the people he's killed… he couldn't kill a little boy? It's just astounding… of all the things to stop him… but how in the name of heaven did Harry survive?"

"We can only guess," said Dumbledore. "We may never know."

Professor McGonagall pulled out a lace handkerchief and dabbed at her eyes beneath her spectacles. Dumbledore gave a great sniff as he took a golden watch from his pocket and examined it. It was a very odd watch. It had twelve hands but no numbers; instead, little planets were moving around the edge. It must have made sense to Dumbledore, though, because he put it back in his pocket and said, "Hagrid's late. I suppose it was he who told you I'd be here, by the way?"

"Yes," said Professor McGonagall. "And I don't suppose you're going to tell me why you're here, of all places?"

"I've come to bring Harry to his aunt and uncle. They're the only family he has left now."

"You don't mean - you can't mean the people who live here ?" cried Professor McGonagall, jumping to her feet and pointing at number four. "Dumbledore — you can't. I've been watching them all day. You couldn't find two people who are less like us. And they've got this son — I saw him kicking his mother all the way up the street, screaming for sweets. Harry Potter come and live here!"

"It's the best place for him," said Dumbledore firmly. "His aunt and uncle will be able to explain everything to him when he's older. I've written them a letter."

“是的，”麦格教授说，“可去的地方多了，您为什么偏偏要到这里来呢？ 我想，您大概不会告诉我吧？”　　

“我是来接哈利，把他送到他姨妈姨父家的。现在他们是他惟一的亲人了。”　　

“您不会是指——您不可能是指住在这里的那家人吧？”她噌地跳起来，指着四号那一家。“邓布利多——您可不能这么做。我观察他们一整天了。您找不到比他们更不像你我这样的人了。他们还有一个儿子——我看见他在大街上一路用脚踢他母亲，吵着要糖吃。要哈利·波特住在这里？！”　　

“这对他是最合适的地方了。”邓布利多坚定地说，“等他长大一些，他的姨妈姨父会向他说明一切。我给他们写了一封信。”　

主要知识点：

1.   in the name of heaven：

同样的意思是in the name of God，其实还有另一种表达法，也就是：in God's / Heaven's name。
表示的是一种惊讶的语气，诸如“天啊~上帝啊~”之类的。
或者就是在文中的这种表达“究竟，到底”的意思，也就是纯粹用来加强语气滴。
比如我们说“What in heaven's name was it?”，那就是在说“老天！这究竟是嘛东西啊？”

2.   of all places：

有的时候一个词组就会很奇怪，每个词都认识但是真的要说啥意思，却说不上来。可能of all places就是这样的一个词组了吧。
它其实表达的也是一种强调，有“偏偏，尤其”的意思。比如说：
And why did you choose Iceland for a holiday, of all places? （你怎么选择了去冰岛度假？←明明有那么多地方偏去冰岛干吗？）
其实of all的这个形式很多时候都是表示强调的。比如of all people， of all things等。几乎都紧跟着所要强调的关键字；跟着人就用of all people，跟着物就用of all things，比如说：
You shouldn't have done it. You of all people should know that. （你不该做出这样的事情的，尤其是你应该明白的。）
She did not want to quarrel with Maria today, of all days. （她并不想和玛利亚起冲突的，特別是今天。）

3. jump to one's feet:

表示的是“一跃而起”的意思，其实是包含着一种“惊讶得跳起来”的感觉在。
比如在文中，便是表达出麦格教授对于邓布利多要将哈里送去德思礼家表示相当的惊讶。

4. all the way:

all the way的意思挺简单的。
一来可以表示“一路上”，比如说：
We walked all the way. （我们一路上都是步行。）
或者的话可以表示“完全，毫无保留”，比如说：
I'm with you all the way. （我完全赞成你。）
