HBO has confirmed that viewers will go inside The Newsroom for a third season.

Aaron Sorkin will return as executive producer for what the network has also confirmed will be the show's final season, with former The Office showrunner Paul Lieberstein also coming on board as a producer.

HBO Programming president Michael Lombardo told us:“I’m sure this farewell season will be one to remember.” Returning cast regulars include Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer, Sam Waterston, John Gallagher, Jr., Alison Pill, Thomas Sadoski, Dev Patel and Olivia Munn.
