Parents work hard in order to send their children in good schools, due to the fact that they want their children to have good education. Thus when young people reach the right age they are already prepared to face the world, or the so called society. As a result students work and study hard in order to thank their parents and prepare themselves in the future. Furthermore learning takes much more effort, and calls for motivation, commitment, time management, and good learning skills. Students are considered adults. They find out what they need to know and how it fits into their life, because students are expected to be responsible for their own success on being a good learner.

As a student, it is most important to have good study skills because students practiced every day in order to improve their self, moreover it can be the key to success in school. Imagine that the students review and study their lesson regularly, the more skillful students become at studying, the more students can concentrate to do efforts and do their best work.

Good students’ posses’ presence of both physical and mental interest in learning. Also a good listener, retains what is being said, and has a confidence to ask questions. One of the best ways to help understand something is to ask questions about it. Asking questions is very important skills to acquire; it helps to clarify what students want to find out. In addition good students always set goals; it indicates that something needs to be done to improve students study habits. Students need to establish reasonable goals that achieve without being discourage. Moreover, students must set long term and short term goals to generalize what students want to learn.

During my school years, I can consider my self as extraverted learner, because I focused on the outer world of people and the external environment. I usually prefer to communicate by talking than by writing. I want to experience the world in order to understand it. Thus tend to like action, role playing, simulations, and interaction with other students. As teacher of spoken English, my experience when I was a student helps me a lot by grouping my students and giving them some activities to do. Students learn to think and express themselves, yet as an educator; external method is not enough, so I also added some strategies in my teaching style. Like the auditory learning, the visual learning, and the tactile/kinesthetic learning. I can see that my students enjoy and learn more about the subject I teach. Meaning, all of this is to learn in academic studies and in our daily lives, though people tend to rely on some approaches more than others. Of course there is no proper or improper way of learning. Different approaches to learning have both their strengths and their weaknesses. Particular learning may function more productively in different life settings and circumstances; as a result, strengthening all of our learning abilities maximizes the potentials for successful deals in life challenges. The value of college education is that students are required to take a wide variety of courses. It develops a range of abilities in becoming well-rounded and balanced learners.

In conclusion, there are a number of things involved in being a good learner. Students think that what they learned was enough, but further reflection reveals; when they actually know that what they learned makes a big difference, especially when they are facing challenge to this. They do not have absolute answer for this but existed knowledge itself. It is students’ ability to understand what factors influences the situation, what the alternative responses are, and what the consequences of different responses might be, which provide the best solutions in life. For example, new graduates are applying for a job. Their level is equal with other applicants who have the same level of knowledge. A good learner makes to stand out, in their ability to learn how to do works in the organization and changing situations. Good learners must be open minded, always ready in any situations that they will encounter when they go out and face the big society of the world.
