在这段对话中，由于是第一次课堂演讲，所以不评分。因此，男生听到这个消息后会说“Good news”。

文本及疑难解析

1. No...not this time round...because it's the first one...you know. 不，这一次不评分，你知道，因为这是第一次。
该句的难点：“this time round”的意思就相当于“not this time”。另外“you know”没有什么具体含义，只是一个口头禅。

2. ...cos not a lot of people know where the islands are...因为很多人不知道那些岛屿在哪里。
首先，“cos”是口语中对“because”的省略。另外否定词在“people”和在“know”前面的意思差不多。

3. Dr. White said we shouldn't go into that sort of detail. White博士告诉我们不要讨论那些细节。
go into是“讨论”或者“研究”的意思。

4. Nope...that goes in the Language Policy Seminar...don't you remember?不，那个将在语言政策讨论会上讲，你不记得了吗?
“that”指的是上文提到的“the role of English language”。“nope”是口语中表示否定的一种方式。

5. Dr. White said he wanted us to use plenty of visuals and things and we might as well try them out when we're not being assessed...White博士说他想让我们多用一些视觉的东西，尤其是在不评分的时候还可以多尝试一些其他东西。
“visuals”指PPT或者其他的视觉设备。

题目解析

21和22题是完成句子。

21. 原文“and five minutes for questions”中直接给出了答案，比较简单。预测的时候就知道这个题要听一个数字。

22. 原文“...and is this one going to be assessed? No, not this time round...”虽然是在问句中提到了题干中的“will”和所填答案“assessed”，但是只要考生稍加记忆，就可以轻松地从后面的否定词中获得答案。要注意该答案的写法。

23～26题是搭配题。

注意题干和选项的比例关系。四道题目只有三个选项，这意味着有一个选项要被选两遍。

23. 原文“but I think we ought to say something about the geographical location...cos not a lot of people know where the islands are”中的“ought to”提示考生该题应选A。

24. 原文“Shouldn't we say something about the economy...because it does influence the education system...let's think about that one later shall we?”中说“economy”这个话题以后再说，所以他们有可能要包括这个话题，所以选B。

25. 原文“general view of education... of course”中的“of course”提示考生应选A。

26. 原文“...and then the role of English language... Nope... that goes in the Language Policy Seminar... don't you remember? Are you sure? Positive. ”中说“the role of English language”要在另外一个讨论中涉及，所以肯定不包括，选C。

27～30题是一个表格。

27. 原文“...the most important thing is the overhead projector... No problem... we'll get that from the media room... ”中的代“that”指的是上文提到的“overhead projector”。如果无法将代词还原，定位就会出现问题。多做快速阅读可以解决这样的问题。

28. 原文“Well, the West African one is no problem... There's one in the Resources Room... Oh yeah, of course, the resources room...”中可以直接听到答案。但是可能有些考生虽然听到了答案，却没法正确拼出这个单词。为了熟悉单词的拼写，最好先熟悉读音规则。

29. 原文“Literacy rates...encyclopaedia...why don't we call the embassy? Oh...someone's enthusiastic! Well...if something's worth doing... I know...it's worth doing well...OK. ”前面出现了一个迷惑信息“百科全书”，不过后面又将其否定了。

30. 原文“We can find out statistics on school places from them as well. Might as well. ”中，答案出现在定位信息之前，如果短时记忆力不够好的话，就会错过答案。
