基本词汇：

look:是常用词, 指“注意或有意识地看”。 强调动作，常用短语look at,have a look at.

Example:

He looked but saw nothing.他看了, 但什么也没看见。

read:看报纸，看书等时用read

Example:

My fahter always reads magazines after dinner.

see:强调看的结果，常用句型：see sb. do sth.(看到某人做某事，强调过程，看到了事情的整个经过。see sb. doing sth.(看到某人正在做某事，看到某事正在发生）。

Example: 

I saw her playing a tennis match. (part of the process部分过程)

I saw her play a tennis match.(the entire process完整过程)

watch:聚精会神的看，观察。用法与see基本一样。

Example:

She sat and watched the children play.她坐下来看着孩子们玩耍。

sight:此词与视力和视觉有关，意指察看或视野。

Example:

Don't let the puppy out of your sight.别让小狗离开你的视线。

进阶词汇：

gaze: 凝视，注视，指由于好奇、感叹、长时间目不转睛地看。

Example:

The girl gazed at her beautiful new doll.女孩目不转睛地看着她美丽的新娃娃。

He gazed out the window at the snow.他凝视这窗外的雪。

stare指“睁大眼睛、目不转睛地盯着看”

Example:
