Today, millions of Chinese senior high school students take the college entrance examination, commonly known as Gaokao, which is considered to be one of the turning points in our life. Almost all of us took the college entrance examination. Some fulfill their dream about ideal universities while some not. Anyway, it is our first choice of our future，which is a milestone for us.

It seems that college entrance examination is an inevitable test if you desire to succeed in China, especially you have nothing but your knowledge in your mind. However, its fairness and justice has been questioned by numerous people for quiet a long time. The unfairness reveals in many aspects, particularly in regional differences. In other words, the student enrollment percentage of the same university varies in different provinces. To be honest, the college entrance examination is not fair at the moment. But it is the most fairest examination at present compared to other tests in China, such as postgraduate examination. Facing such injustice, the only thing we can do now is to hold a positive attitude towards it and to do whatever we can to make sure its fairness in the future.

The annual big event for secondary school students, College Entrance Examination, is approaching. Therefore, the controversy about the fairness of CEE has became a hot topic on the media. Some people complaint about the system of current CEE for its biased criteria for students from different regions. Personally, I think the CEE is a relatively fair exam at the moment.

Yes. It is undeniable that there is an obvious problem in CEE. China, however, is a great country with large populations and dealing with the enrollment of college students has never been an easy task. The Ministry of Education have to take account of the political issues, historical issues and geographic issues. For instance, to augment the average population quality, the CEE is designed for being beneficial to the undeveloped areas in terms of education.

Nevertheless, the CEE is a relatively fair exam at present. Thanks to its pivotal role in student’s life, hardly could students cheat in this exam. And almost all the students are enrolled by a uniform standard – the CEE score. Apparently, the CEE is a good opportunity for the students who have no particular backgrounds or from rural areas to change their future life by attending a university with a top-tier reputation.

Although there is a widely criticised issue existing in current CEE, we cannot ignore that the CEE is changing and adapting itself to new needs of the whole people.

If I could talk to myself at 18, the year when I took the CEE, the first thing I would like to say is that it’s going to be a year of pain and sweat. You may doubt about the meaning of life, but trust me, you’ll make through this. You’ll see tremendous scenes, meet kind people and you’ll find the answer before long. Then I’d say thank you for your hard-working, even though it isn't the best result, but it turns out to be the best-fit one.
