在通常情况下，too和also不能用于否定句，但有时在一个肯定句之后跟有一个否定句时，却可以用 too或also。如：He came, but she didn’t also came. 他来了，但她没有也一起来。She likes dancing, but her husband doesn’t too. 她喜欢跳舞，但她的丈夫并不也喜欢跳舞。请比较并体会以下两个句子：He didn’t buy it, and she didn’t either. 他没有买它，她也没有买。He bought a computer, but she didn’t too. 他买了台电脑，但她没有也买台电脑。 另外，有时(主要是在正式文体中)在独立的否定句中也可使用also和too，但此时必须将之置于否定词之前。如： I also don’t like it. 我也不喜欢它。
