W:At the Museum of Modern Art in New York.The Art History Department recently organized a special museum tour there.

M:Is this a copy of something in the museum collection?

W:Yes,it’s a print of a painting by Georgia O’Keefe called “Lake George Window”.

M:It looks more like a photograph.Is the Art History Department planning another museum tour?

W:Yes,the next one is a special exhibit of European painters at the Museum of Find Out In Boston.I think I will sign up for that one.Maybe I will even come back with prints to cover the bare walls of my room.

W:My name is Wan Mei and I live in Guangzhou.I was born in 1987.  I am a student of Jinan University.I have majored in Public Administration,I like travelling very much and enjoy sports.I am in the    tennis club at my university.

 M:Your application form says you were out of school for half a year     during high school.What was the reason? Were you ill?

 W:.My father’s job took him to America for six months then,   and he decided to take the whole family along.

 M:So during that time you went to high school in the United States?

W:Yes,it was just for a few months.I attended Johnson High School    in Chicago.

The United States Department of Education says there are more than 2,400 American colleges and universities.About one hundred of these fouryear schools began as public agricultural colleges,and continue to teach agriculture.They are called land grant colleges or universities.Federal land grants supported the building of most of the major state universities in the United States.   The idea of the land grant college was developed more than 100 years ago by Congressman Justin Smith Morrill   of Vermont.In 1862,he wrote bills to create such a college in each state.      Almost 200 international  students  are studying this year in the College of Agricultural Sciences at Penn  State.All  but  five are  graduate  students.University officials say most international students in the College of Agricultural Sciences are from Africa,Asia and Europe.They are studying animal science,plant science,economics,and food science.
