Star-rated hotels：就是指“星级饭店”。

Star ranking指的是饭店的“星级”，而“星级评定机制”就是star-rating system。目前通行的旅游饭店的等级共分五等，即一星、二星、三星、四星、五星。五星饭店就是five-star hotel。

Ranking的意思是“排位，排名”，作形容词时表示“……级别的”、“……地位的”。例如high-ranking hotels是指“高级别的饭店”，high-ranking official指的是“显要官员”。各行各业都有自己的rating system（评级制度），还有专门的rating agency（评级机构）。

国家旅游局副局长杜江在工作会议上称，为切实维护星级饭店良好的品牌形象，我国将逐步建立完善星级饭店的退出机制，及时将达不到标准要求的饭店淘汰出局。
