Former Secretary of State Lawrence S. Eagleburger has died. He served at the very end of the George H. W. Bush administration. He was the only career foreign service officer to rise to the position of secretary of state.

An FBI forensic expert has testified in Casey Anthony’s murder trial that a hair removed from her car was consistent with hair from a dead body. Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee.

Li Na has become the first Chinese player to win a Grand Slam singles title. She claimed her French Open title with her straight-sets victory over last year’s champion Francesca Schiavone.
