PBS and ITV officially announced that "Downton Abbey's" sixth season is going to be its last on Thursday (March 26). In a conference call with the press, executive producer Gareth Neame says they're ending the show because it feels like the right time and addresses some of the rumors about a movie or a possible spinoff.

Neame assures fans that Season 6 will be the exact same structure as previous seasons, with 11 hours of programming over nine episodes, ending with the series finale on Christmas night in the U.K.
Neame向粉丝们保证，第六季的结构会和之前的几季一样，一共9集，共计11小时，并且会在英国上演圣诞特辑作为结局。

Season 6 production is well underway. While several scripts have been finished, Neame says there are no definite plans for a movie or spinoff.
