根据婚礼举办地红珠宾馆的负责人的说法，陈莹很早就订了在该宾馆的婚宴，4月20日早晨发生地震后，宾馆有工作人员建议取消婚宴，但是陈莹及其亲友们还是要求婚宴照常举行。宾馆的厨师为了安全起见，在宾馆外的空地上搭起灶台，为他们准备婚宴。这位负责人表示：双方并没有为此发生不愉快。
