According to Wikipedia, a birthday is an occasion when a person or institution celebrates the anniversary of their birth. Birthdays are celebrated in numerous cultures, often with a gift, party, or rite of passage.
As my birthday is approaching, I`d like to choose birthday as today`s topic. : )

范例1：

A birthday once was the best day of the year when I was a child as I appeared to be the king of the world and was surrounded with countless gifts on that day. With time passing by, the happiness brought by birthdays is gradually fading due to the fact that I am not light-hearted anymore. Growing up means that I am expected to be ready for more responsibility, which I am struggling for. On one hand, life is like a box of chocolate and I live in expectation of numerous surprises. On the other hand, the indefinite future with risks exhausts me. How ironic!
