N'allez pas jusqu'au bureau, arretez-vous avant? 主要是想表达：你不要走到办公室里面去（你在进入办公室之前就要停下来） avant和devant用法上的主要区别如下： avant 表示与时间有关的顺序，或者抵达某一个地点的时间，可以和表达时间的词、名词和代词连用。如： avant midi —— before noon 中午前 avant l'examen —— before the test 考试之前 Je me suis arrêté avant le carrefour——I stopped before [arriving at] the intersection. 我在十字路口前停下了。 Il est parti avant moi——He left before me. 他在我之前离开了。 devant 表达一种有关地点或者方位的概念，不管是具体的还是抽象的。类似于英语中的in front of，只能与名词和代词连用。如： devant la voiture——in front of the car 在车子前 devant les juges——before the judges 在法官面前 devant le danger——faced with / in the face of danger 在危险面前 Il est devant toi——He's in front of you. 他在你前面综上所述，avant和时间有关，devant和地点有关。而avant后面除了名词/代词，还可以接de +动词原形以及que + 虚拟句，devant只可以接名词/代词。
