Newly engaged Uma Thurman is unashamed to admit she was wrong when she vowed she would never marry again. The Kill Bill star ①ruled out ever ②walking down the aisle again after she split from fellow actor Ethan Hawke in 2003. She had previously been married to Harry Potter star Gary Oldman. But, speaking out for the first time since announcing her engagement to multi-millionaire businessman Arpad Busson last month , the actress insists she is happy to ③go back on her word. She says, "I'm going to have to retract my statement of never. I'll have to ④eat my words - what a surprise."

②walk down the aisle: 步入婚姻殿堂。我原以为aisle是婚礼红毯的意思，结果查了一下居然是“过道”的意思，想想也是，电影里面老外在教堂里举行婚礼的时候，新娘们不是都要走过观众席（？）中间的走廊么？
③go back on: 不履行，违背。不是“走回去”，而是“背对着”——这样就好记了吧？
④eat one's words: 收回说过的话，承认前言有失，说错了。中文里面惯有的说法是“食言”，也就是违背诺言的意思。英文里面eat one's words却并不是那么直接的字面上“食言”的意思，而是收回说过的话，有一点点认错的意思，带有感情色彩。所以同“食言”不一样，要注意哟！
