That’s a beautiful skirt, but it’s too expensive for me.

Rolls Royces are very expensive.

劳斯莱斯汽车价格昂贵。

She has expensive tastes (= she likes things that cost a lot of money).

2.Dear也可以表示价格昂贵，高价（costing too much），指价格高出正常或合理的价格，主要指普通日用品因暂时的供应不足而造成的价格上涨。

The food was good but very dear.
