8月12日晚，《中国新歌声》的舞台上迎来了一位大咖学员，众导师异口同声地称呼官灵芝为老师，让这位“客语界的江蕙”吸引了广大观众的注意力。不仅仅是官灵芝扎实的唱功，她对音乐的坚持、对人生积极乐观的态度也俘获了不少人的心。这位已经年过半百的实力唱将正走向她人生中的又一新篇章。

舞台上，哈林是第一位认出官灵芝的人，他一声发自内心的“老师好”让官灵芝很是感动。“我很开心他能冲下来。”上台之前，官灵芝心中便已认定哈林为“首选导师”。她希望在时间紧凑的比赛准备过程中，尽快走上练歌的轨道。“我和他是同个年代，他会了解我，越了解越有利于之后的指导。”2010年的金曲奖颁奖仪式上，身为主持人的哈林忙进忙出，与众多得奖的音乐人在后台擦肩而过，而哈林则记住了这位沉稳大方、歌声动人的“客家最佳演唱人”。

已经唱了38年的官灵芝迄今演唱超过四万场，来到“新歌声”，她坦言自己其实“是在和自己比赛”，因为舞台上并没有一位在年纪和历练上可以和她相互平衡的学员。面对“亦敌亦友”的学员们，官灵芝秉持着“不断超越自己一点”的心态，“这样日子就没有白过”。
