"年度考核"如何翻译为英语？请看《中国日报》的报道：
China's state bureau of civil servants on Tuesday, stipulated that civil servants, who were evaluated as "incompetent" for two consecutive years in the annual assessment, would be dismissed.
中国国家公务员局于本周二做出规定，连续两年年度考核为不称职等级的公务员将被辞退。
在上面的报道中，annual assessment就是我们工作中常遇到的"年度考核"。在这个短语里annual做形容词，表示"一年一度的"，例如公司每年都会出一份annual report（年度报告），里面会标明annual accounting（年度决算）。可是annual the contract可不是表示再续一年合同，而是"废除合同"的意思。
此外，assessment在我们的生活中也是无处不在，我们在单位可能还会有performance-based assessment（工作表现评价），forward-looking assessment（发展前景评价），self-assessment（自我评价）等不同的评价形式。
