The romantic lives of mythical gods (Greek, Egyptian, Norse, and otherwise) are often complicated and dramatic. With frequent affairs and backstabbings, mythology could give any soap opera a run for its money. Sometimes when reading myths, it's easy to get your wires crossed about who's dating whom and whose parents are whose. Luckily, the talented Korwin Briggs—the creator of the webcomic Veritable Hokum—has created three family trees that map out the relationships between the gods. As you can see, some gods did some serious work copulating (we're looking at you, Zeus).

Take these illustrations with a grain of salt, though: Mythological stories often have many different versions as a result of their oral nature. For example, Greek goddess Aphrodite is often said to rise from sea foam, but Homer depicts her as the daughter of Zeus and Dione.

If you want to have these family trees on file for reference, they all come in poster form. You can pick one up right here.
