Taiwanese director Hou Hsiao-hsien's  martial arts film "The Assassin"  emerged as the biggest winner at the 52nd Golden Horse Awards in Taipei on Saturday, grabbing five awards, including best feature film.
第52届金马奖颁奖典礼于上周六在台湾举行，台湾导演侯孝贤的巨作《刺客聂隐娘》成为此次获奖的最大赢家，囊括最佳剧情片奖等5大奖项。

The highly praised film entered the competition with 11 nominations.
这部备受赞誉的影评参与评选时获得了11项提名。

Hou picked up the best director award, while the film also won best cinematography, best makeup and costume design, and best sound effects at the awards, the Taiwanese equivalent of the Oscars.
金马奖被誉为台湾的奥斯卡奖。侯孝贤摘得最佳导演奖桂冠，这部电影同时还获得了最佳摄影奖，最佳最佳造型设计奖，最佳音效奖。

The night's second biggest winner was also a Taiwanese film, "Thanatos, Drunk" (醉‧生夢死) by director Chang Tso-chi.

The film, which entered the competition with 10 nominations, won four awards: best supporting actress award for Lu Hsueh-feng, best new performer award for Lee Hong-chi , as well as best original film score and best film editing.

Meanwhile, Taiwanese actress Karena Lam won the best lead actress award for her role as a woman who loses her fiancé in "Zinnia Flower," which deals with heartaches and losses.
