在自己38岁生日当天，美国全能创作怪才Beck推出了自己的第十张正式专辑《Modern Guilt》。2006年10月，Beck的上一张录音室专辑《The Information》在Billboard 200专辑榜中上榜首周名列第七位，但上市首周的销量更高，达到9万9千张。
从出道以来，Beck的音乐风格就一直像美国的文化一样的多元化，Lo-Fi，电子，舞曲，试验，流行摇滚，伤感民谣......这些风马牛不相及的音乐风格都被他玩的炉火纯青，放眼当今的流行乐坛，似乎还找不到第二位像Beck一样的音乐人能够玩儿的转如此多类型的音乐。多元化是Beck最大的特点，歌迷永远都不知道他下一张专辑会怎么做，当然更不知道哪种元素会成为主导。但有一点我们是肯定的，这就是无论以哪种风格为主，Beck都能做出来旋律好，时尚而俏皮的音乐。
与Beck以往的作品相比，《Modern Guilt》依然是一张保持了高水准的专辑，除了基本上没有民谣类型的曲子之外，其他多种音乐风格均有涉猎。从制作方面来看，Gnarls Barkley组合成员、流行届的超级制作人Danger Mouse的加入是本张专辑的看点之一。(转载)
