多功能平板Kindle Fire

Amazon announced the Kindle Fire, a 7-inch multi-function tablet running a customisedversion of Android called Fire OS, in 2011. This was the first Kindle without an e-ink display. It had 8GB of storage, a projected battery life of up to eight hours, and cost $199. Unlike previously released Kindles, it had no 3G option, but only Wi-Fi.
2011年亚马逊还推出了7英尺的多功能平板Kindle Fire，这款平板运行的是经专门定制、名为Fire OS 的Android 系统。这也是第一款不使用电子墨水屏的Kindle系列产品。8G内存，八小时的电池续航时间和199美元的价格。不过Fire不支持3G网络，只能用Wi-Fi.

The Kindle Paperwhite was released in 2012. It had a 6-inch display with built-in LEDs to illuminate the screen, and 2GB of storage. The light level had to be adjusted manually. Battery life was advertised at up to eight weeks of reading with half an hour per day with wireless off. It was also the first Kindle to track the user's reading speed to estimate when they will finish a chapter or book.

The Voyage also uses a new method of turning pages, called 'PagePress'. There are sensors on either side of the screen and if pressed it turns the page.

It also comes with Amazon FreeTime, which allows parents to control how long their children spend on the device.
