Secondly, we can contact friends or business partners via e-mails or software such as Internet Meeting and Yahoo Messenger. Last but not least, we can take part in groups or mailing lists to talk with friends of the same interest.
Those who are opposed to the Internet hold that disadvantages are many. In the first place, the Internet costs considerable time, money and energy especially for those with less self-control. In the second place, surfing on the Internet for a long time harms the eyes a lot. Finally, more and more young people are indulged in online games, Internet chat and even pornography, which are extremely harmful to their future development.

[模板点评] 这是一篇非常典型的利弊类作文。首段中先写因特网在人们生活中占有越来越重要的地位。而后又以however转折说明人们的观点有分歧。第二段和第三段分别以支持者和反对者的口吻说出了其优点和缺点，各分三个方面。
最后一段包括三句话，先说因特网的优点大于缺点，而后说其发展很快，最后说其前景美好。有许多值得学习的模板。第一句是下结论常用的句子，all in all既可用in a word, in summary, to sum up或in conclusion替代，也可用from what we have discussed above或from all that has been discussed above这样较复杂的结构替换。动词outweigh表示“比...重要”，隐含这是比较之后的结果，而pros and cons非常简单，效果却等同于advantages、disadvantages或positive aspects、negative aspects等。第二句中动词witness的用法很生动。最后一句是条件状语从句，同时请注意await（相当于wait for）和make good use of的用法。

[妙笔生花] 第二段分三点来说，第一点中的“search engine”表示“搜索引擎”。第二点中的via表示“通过”。第三点中的“mailing list”表示“邮件列表”。
三段也分三点来说。第一点中的considerable指“大量的”，self-control表示“自控、自制”。第二点中的surfing表示“冲浪”，这里表示“网上冲浪”。第三点中的“be indulged in”表示“沉迷于、沉溺于”，而online games、Internet chat和pornography分别指网上游戏、网络聊天和色情。

[文中之思]
这篇文章极为典型，开头与结尾都是如此。开头只说此问题突出，自然后面的过渡句可紧随其后——人们持不同意见。这样又与二、三段首句的整齐相呼应，非常精妙。二、三段首句均采用those who…的句型，这样就不必再使用别的手段来连接就可表示对比（主要的效果是二、三段间不必加一句话过渡的话），非常简洁。最后一段在首句说利大于弊一定不能就此结束，这点请大家细细琢磨。
这个题目还可以考成图表题，写作方法有所不同——首段是描述图表，次段很可能是说明因特网发展的原因（与其优点相结合），三段可能是问题与解决办法，最后作结。在看了这篇范文后，这样的图表作文大家写来应该是没有问题的。
