I only watched a few British TV series, such as Merlin and Sherlock. Here I strongly recommend Downton Abbey in that it does have power to bewitch you and me. It was recognized by Guinness World Records as the most critically acclaimed English-language television series of 2011. First, I am impressed by the music at the very first second, which conveys something unusual. Second, the scenery, especially Downton Abbey itself, is eye-catching. Third, an assortment of characters have distinct personalities and individualities. Fourth, actors and actresses have amazing accents which greatly attract me just as British English always sounds pleasant. Compared with American TV series, British TV series now seem not that popular. Personally, the main reason is that American TV series sharply outnumber British TV series and American TV series cater to a great deal more audience around the world.
