访谈第四集:
Steven: You two started lucky, you got the role, right?
David: Yes, we are lucky, but after that, it doesn't mean we haven't worked hard. The one thing I always done, when I get a part or a job is I'm thinking about my next job, what a good career move for me now, what do I go up for, what do I see myself, where this bring me in my career.
Is it just a stop gap that something is great to do for you at fun or just pushing me into another direction. I'm always thinking about that when I am working, so sometimes when you make tough decisions you say sure I like to do, I'm not really right for it, but I really like to do it.
Until you make that decision to go, you can't do it, cause if you do something that you not right for, sometimes it really work against you. Because people see you in something you are not right for, and they make a judgment call on that. So you couldn't do yourself more good even if you really want to do it.
Robert: But I think one thing you said, Steven, is an very important thing. You said attitude, and I think I am really truly believe, back to my book, the last chapter, the nine secret of the book is the attitude. Because it's all about "the", you know having a positive attitude, from an audition process to actually working in a company you said lucky because we got in.
But how do you keep that to the next. People have to like you, you have to work well. Having attitude is like what people, if I was employer, I would say, this guy is good, let's bring him to the next thing. That actually what happen in Australia, would you like to come to London? If I had a bad attitude...
Steven: I just come up with the feeling that you don't feel like working, you feel unsafe about the current situation, being a musical actor?
Robert: Unsafe about the job? I think that's part of the fun. If you really love what you do in performing, you taking into consideration that you working, working, stop. You always try to get the next job, but sometimes it's six months or a year.
To answer your question, yes, you do feel unsafe, sometimes; yes, you do feel what's happening next. For me, that's why I'm looking to what else can I do. I love what I do, what else can I do. What else I like doing that I can do.
David: I don't get nervous about working that I never have done. I always believe something will come along, I do. Cause something always does, I be lucky in that sense, but, something always come around the corner.
