Steven: What is the purpose of your visit this time?
Girogia: First of all, the honor to sing in Beijing two times two concerts before. Now I’m here, this is the perfect opportunity for me to still sing for Chinese audiences. Tomorrow I will go to Italy for another concert, and then to Portugal and Canada, but I will come back to China again.
Steven: I think that is an amazing experience, especially in this typical period of time, Beijing Olympics.
Girogia: I was here in April, I sang in a beautiful theatre, the new one. From there, I was hoping to come back for the Olympics. We are afraid if you don’t need me, and then the Olympic Committee they invited me two months before. I’m really lucky and honor to come to China in this special time when Beijing is so beautiful to see and the traffic is so well and to see the spirit of Olympics. I think now China is showing the world how many talents that are here and how much creativity ideas with the opening ceremony, we saw the magic. I feel very honor and lucky to be here.
Steven: You watched the opening ceremony on TV or online?
Girogia: I watched actually here. I mean I was still traveling at eight, I was on the plane, so I couldn’t see live but I arrived here and I saw from here at eleven. They were showing it again and I watched the opening from the middle to the end. And I do hope to go back home to watch everything because it was really impressive, especially the Tai Ji part. It was my favorite part, to see all the people in the huge stadium where I imagine the energy was so high. To see all those people performing and meditating with all these Tai Ji. I think it is one of the treasures of Asia culture. Of cause all the acrobatics, when the world came up with all the acrobatics. It was really impressive.
Steven: It was one of most amazing part the opening ceremony. Have you ever imagine yourself to sing the theme song of Olympics, what kind of songs you would like to pick?
Girogia: Last time I had the honor to sing for the special Olympic in Shanghai. We had five singers from five continents. It was so beautiful and all the dancers. The song was really beautiful, the lyric and the melody. This year they gave a right choose, she had so much experience and did so many things in her career. I think she is one of the best to represent this kind of event.. I think she was the one that need to be there. They were calling me, I myself is available but to stand so high it’s caring. I think they tight in some way because they were so high. But I think it's an honor for a singer to sing especially for the special set. They add one Chinese and one English to sing. Its really a beautiful message to blend together. To realize that we are different but we are one big family. This is wonderful message. I really like the lyric, the meaning of the song, they repeat all the time “You and me, we are family”. I think this is for all needs really, this kind of message. I think it was really soft, they wanted it and they know this wonderful calls and movements, they just want to create a peaceful quiet moment. Of cause the song could be more powerful but I think it is a question of pace. Of cause Sarah she did a lot of up pitch songs and she is also known as the crystal voice. We cannot please everybody, I think everybody try to do their best.
Steven: But you try to please your mother before.
Giorgia: Yes, a lot. I try to be the perfect child and I try to receive so much love and my parents they wanted me to do a sure job, they wanted me to do something serious, like a lawyer. I wanted so much to be loved and accepted. I think it is a desire of everybody. But the problem is when you forget yourself and nature to please others. This can be a problem. I experienced it. I just believe myself and try to be myself, try to show the true nature of me.
