背景介绍：

The Left-behind Generation refers to the children in rural areas whose parent works (even both parents work) far away from home in urban areas in order to support the family. The left-behind children are mostly brought up by their grandparents. However, they are in lack of love and care from their parents.

Apart from the children, there are much more people that are left behind in rural areas, namely the old and the young women. And many unexpected problems arise from those left behind.

It is they belonging to the left-behind that need special attention from the society.

话题：

1) In the city where you are now or the hometown where you are from, are there any left-behind people that you are familiar with? If yes, tell us some stories between you and them.

2) What problems do you think are there to the left-behind children? If any, how to resolve them?

范例1：

With the rapid urbanization, an increasing number of migrant workers from rural areas are attracted to seek jobs in cities aiming to feed their families. Most migrant workers, who have kids to bring up, cannot help but choose to leave them alone at home. Therefore, the responsibilities to raise and educate the children have to fall on the shoulders of the senior people.

As a matter of fact, it may difficult for the old to live with the children since there is generation gap. Worse still, the old may not have a knowledge of children education. Besides, there are many other reasons that add to the difficulties. In a word, the left-behind children need much more care.

I don’t want to admit but have to think that the dilemma relating to the left-behind generation may last a longer time in the future. However, it can be eased since a Chinese saying writes that there are more measures than difficulties.

范例2：

Most of us have been growing up with our parents’ love, while there are children who have been left behind since they were still young as well. These children are called the Generation of Left-behind, which have become the innocent victims of poverty.

The so-called left-behind children have suffered the separation from their parents through the whole childhood. As for those worthy parents, they devote themselves to hard working far away from home just for the duty to support their families. All of them have a common dream, which is to make their families lead a happy life. However, what they have ignored is that they can’t compensate the harm which their children have suffered. It is poverty that forces the parents to leave their children behind for the developed cities to earn their living. As a result, the left-behind children were forced into leading their life bravely.

Above all, we should lend a hand to the left-behind children to make up for their loss of love as possible as we can. Meanwhile, those great parents deserve our respect.
