Shenzhou-10 has docked with the Tiangong-1 space lab, using automatic operation. It’s Tiangong-1’s 5th docking with Shenzhou spaceships since it was launched into space in September, 2011.

Shenzhou-10 went through several orbit changes ahead of the planned docking. It then entered an autonomous state of control. The spacecraft, under the guidance of ground staff, gradually approached and docked with the Tianhong-1.

Three astronauts onboard Shenzhou-10 were on duty and monitored the entire docking process. They are scheduled to enter the Tiangong-1 and conduct space science and technological experiments.

Tiangong-1 has been in space for about 620 days and has been visited by Shenzhou-8 and Shenzhou-9 spaceships in 2011 and 2012.
