7月2日，一场以反劫持、反劫机、反爆炸、反袭击为主要内容的实兵演练，在武警山东总队展开，以检验武警部队在北京2008年奥运会期间防范、处置恐怖袭击事件的应急反应能力。无人侦察机、排爆机器人等一批目前中国先进的奥运安保反恐新装备纷纷亮相，成为保障平安奥运的“神兵利器”。

China's security forces are to use unmanned drones to patrol the skies over the Olympic sailing venue of Qingdao City, in the country's first known use of the spy craft.

奥运安保部门将在奥运期间派无人侦察机在奥运会帆船比赛城市青岛上空进行巡逻，这是我国首次使用此类侦察机。

The unmanned scout made its debut at a drill on Wednesday in Jinan, capital of east China's Shandong Province. It will watch for suspicious activities and transmit photos and videos back to command stations.

无人侦察机本周三在山东济南的一次演习中首次亮相。它将随时注意可疑活动并将现场照片及视频及时传回指挥中心。

上述报道中，unmanned drone指的是“无人驾驶飞机”，drone指an aircraft without a pilot that is operated by remote control。unmanned scout就是“无人侦察机”，而与其同时亮相的另一新装备“排爆机器人”则是explosive disposal robot。除了scout以外，spy craft/plane，observation plane等也都是“侦察机”的意思。
