12月24日:The machine keeps going wrong.机器不断地出故障。      

going:继续,维持
例如:This is exhausting work, but I manage to keep going somehow.(这个工作很费力气, 但是我尽量设法做下去。)
          Keep going straight and turn at the next light.(一直往前,在下一个红绿灯的地方拐弯。 )

12月25日:It's cool and windy in fall.秋天凉爽多风。      

n. 秋天,瀑布,摔倒,下降
例如:I want to see the panoramic views of the falls.(我想看瀑布的全景。)
         A fall on the leaves didn't hurt a spry fellow like him.(摔倒在树叶上,伤不着象他这号利索的家伙。)

12月26日:It was the very same thing.那完全是同一件事。      

very same:完全相同的,正是这个
例如:It was the very same house they had attempted to rob.(这正是他们企图打劫的那户人家。)
          He used the very same words as I had.(他所用的词语正与我相同。)

12月27日:We had an unbelievable time in Shanghai.我们在上海度过了非常快活的日子。      

evable:adj. 难以置信的
例如:The subtlety of color is absolutely unbelievable.(这色彩的精美是令人难以置信的。)
          There are many unbelievable aspects to this theory.( 这一理论有许多方面不可信。)

12月28日:He broke his word and never came back.他食言了并且一去不返。      

one's word:失信,食言
例如:Mick is the last man to break his word.( 迈克绝不是不守承诺的人。)
          We all lose patience with Tom because he broke his word.( 我们都无法忍受汤姆,因为他失言。)

12月29日:That's another brilliant idea went down the pan.又一个好主意泡汤了。       

1. go down the pan:成为废物,不值得使用
例如:If you don't want it to go down the pan, you'd better do as I told you.(如果你不想它变得毫无用处,你最好照我说的那样做。)

12月30日She couldn't bear to be laughed at.她不能忍受被人取笑。      

v. 承受,忍受
例如:He is unfortunate who cannot bear misfortune.(不能承受不幸的就是不幸。)
          You must grin and bear it.(你必须强颜忍受。)
