10月29日：The plane is going to take off in one hour.飞机将于一小时后起飞。

off：飞机起飞，匆匆离去，脱掉
例如：I think I'll take off from work for a few days.（我想请假离开几天。）
         At bedtime, I take off my clothes and put on my pajamas.（睡觉时，我脱去衣服，换上睡衣。）

10月30日：She can always fall back on him when she is in difficulties.她碰到困难时总是可以求助他。

back on：求助于，退守
例如：At least we can fall back on candles if the electricity fails.（停电时我们至少可以使用蜡烛。）
          He tries to fall back on the other pleasure of life.（他试图回到生活的其他享乐之中。）

10月31日：My mind has gone blank.我的大脑一片空白。

：adj. 空白的，茫然的
例如：He handed me a blank check.（他递给我一张空白支票。）
          There was a blank look on his face.（他脸上没有表情。）

11月01日：They hit it off immediately.他们一见如故。

1.hit it off：合得来，志趣相投
例如：These children hit it off well in the kindergarten.（这些小孩在幼儿园里相处得很好。）
          He took her out on a date but they didn't really hit it off.（他约她出去过一回，可是他们好像不大合得来。）

11月02日：Let's play hide-and-seek.我们玩捉迷藏吧。

1.hide-and-seek：捉迷藏
例如：The children love to play at hide-and-seek here.（孩子们喜欢在此捉迷藏。）
          They spent the whole afternoon together playing hide-and-seek.（他们整个下午都在一起捉迷藏。）

：v. 忍受，经受，承受
例如：The pain was almost more than flesh could take.（疼痛几乎使肉体受不了。）
          I was prepared to take that heat.（我准备承受这个压力。）

11月04日：It'll take me longer than ten minutes.这要花去十分钟以上的时间。

例如：Research really take up lots of time and energy.（研究工作确实耗费很多时间和精力。）
