Another new show has been put down. Following the cancellation of CBS' Made in Jersey, NBC has cancelled its freshman comedy Animal Practice.

Only five episodes of Animal Practice, starring Justin Kirk, made it to air. That's one more than Free Agents did last season for NBC on Wednesday, and three more than I thought it would last.

NBC will fill Wednesdays at 8pm with season 2 of Whitney starting November 14. Whitney was originally slated to premiere this Friday, but NBC decided to hold off so it could be used to fill a programming hole.

Whitney is obviously a better pair for the other Wednesday night comedy, Guys with Kids, since both are multi-camera, laugh track sitcoms.

Sadly there's still no word on when Community will return for its fourth season.

Animal Practice dropped in the ratings every week, reaching a series-low 3.8 million in its fifth and final episode. After getting an unnaturally high Olympics boost for the premiere, the show's Wednesday debut was at 5.2 million viewers.

Animal Practice is the first NBC show and first comedy of the new fall season to get cancelled. NBC previously picked up Revolution, Go On and The New Normal for full seasons.

《动物诊所》原名《动物王国》（Animal Kingdom）是Universal Television制作的一部办公室单镜头喜剧（是的又是喜剧，NBC第五个喜剧新项目）。该剧将聚焦一位类似于“豪斯医生”的兽医（《单身毒妈》贾斯汀·柯克 饰演），它很热爱动物，但是通常讨厌它们的主人。该剧其它主演还包括泰勒·拉拜（Tyler Labine）、Bobby Lee和艾米·赫伯曼（Amy Huberman）等。
