At least one person has been killed, and 10 others injured in a liquefied gas explosion in Weihai in East China’s Shandong province. The accident happened in the residential area of Weihai Economic-Technological Development Zone.

It caused significant damage to the fifth to the seventh floors of an apartment building. Three of the injured are in critical condition. Three people are still missing. Firefighters and medical teams are continuing rescue efforts.

All the injured have received medical treatment. Police say they think the cause of the accident was a gas leak but an investigation is on the way.
