Chris Rene是2011年第一季由FOX电视台举办的《美版 X音素》季军。Chris Rene 在初赛中演唱原创作品《Young Homie》一举成名，受到评委一致好评。Chris Rene曾经染上毒瘾并且被强制戒毒，12岁开始抽烟，15岁开始喝酒，并且染上了毒瘾，几度崩溃。在戒毒所出来以后，Chris Rene觉得自己不应该再挥霍人生，他渴望在舞台上展示自己的才华，并且渴望用歌声赚钱养活自己3岁的儿子。
