The National Bureau of Statistics of China has released economic data for March, indicating that the national consumer price index has risen 3.6% year-over-year [YOY], and the quarterly consumer price index has risen 3.8% over the same period last year. In March, food prices rose 7.5% YOY, with meat and poultry products rising 11.3%, while fresh produce/vegetable prices rose 20.5%.
国家统计局日前发布了2012年3月的经济数据，全国居民消费价格总水平（CPI）同比上涨3.6%，一季度全国居民消费价格总水平比去年同期上涨3.8%。3月份，食品价格同比上涨7.5%，其中肉禽及其制品价格上涨11.3%，鲜菜价格上涨20.5%。

CPI指数：CPI全称：Consumer Price Index，是反映与居民生活有关的商品及劳务价格统计出来的物价变动指标，通常作为观察通货膨胀水平的重要指标。一般情况下，当CPI＞3%增幅的时候，我们就称其为通货膨胀（inflation）。因此，CPI指数过高的升幅往往不被市场欢迎。 

同比上涨：同比上涨就是今年第n月与去年第n月相比的数据，比如2012年3月的经济数据与2011年3月的经济数据相比上涨的幅度。

环比上涨：环比上涨就是现在的统计周期和上一个统计周期比较得出的数据，比如2012年第一季度的经济数据与2011年第四季度的经济数据相比上涨的幅度。
