张国荣生前一直热心于公益慈善事业，总是尽自己的力量去帮助别人，即使生日都让来客将礼物折成现金捐助给慈善机构。他逝世前的一段时间，推掉了很多演艺工作，但是仍然坚持参加慈善活动。他为人低调，许许多多做过的善事只是悄悄进行，不愿意因媒体的大肆渲染而使其变味。
