Directed by Aaron Sims it was an amazing piece of work on a very low budget and left me wanting more.

RL7 is an eight-foot tall combat robot that goes on the run after malfunctioning with vivid memories of once being human. As its creators and the military close in, RL7 battles its way to uncovering the shocking truth behind its mysterious visions and past.

The good news is we will be seeing more as it is going to be turned into a feature length movie.

John Davis, riding high off of the surprise success of the super-powered found-footage movie Chronicle, is going back to the world of robots.

The producer, who has a first-look deal at Fox and who produced 2004’s I, Robot, has picked up the rights to Archetype, a sci-fi short directed by Aaron Sims, with plans on developing it into a feature. David dipped into his discretionary fund in order to make the acquisition.

Sims will direct and Guy Busick and Ryan Murphy are writing the script.

Great news and I will be looking forward to seeing the full film.

一部制作精良的科幻短片《原型》（Archetype）在Youtube上刚放了不到两个月就获得了近50万的点击量，现在这部7分钟的短片将被拍成长片电影了。

这部短片讲的是一个战斗机器人RL7型忽然觉醒，有了人的记忆，认为自己不是机器人而是人类，他能回忆其自己的家人，自己的过去。但设计制造它的人类则认为这不过是一个故障所导致的。短片的特效非常出色，整个环境设定也很有特点，能拍成长片，真令人期待。

《超能失控》的制片人约翰·戴维斯以及20世纪福斯公司准备将短片拍成长片电影。这个短片的原作者Aaron Sims在特效大神斯坦·温斯顿的工作室里工作过很长时间，参与过斯皮尔伯格的《人工智能》、《世界大战》以及最近的《战马》还有《猩球崛起》等片的特效制作。而制片人约翰·戴维斯则对机器人、科幻题材情有独钟，曾制作过《我，机器人》、《未来水世界》、《铁血战士》等电影。

目前还不清楚这部影片的预算会有多少，希望这位从特效起家的Aaron Sims能成为第二个尼尔·布洛姆坎普（《第九区》的导演）！
