After five seasons, NBC closed the books on Chuck last night.

The two-hour series finale notched a season high among viewers, with 4.2 million tuning in from 8-10 p.m. Among adults 18-49, Chuck rose to post a 1.3 rating, a high for season 5. The second hour, "Chuck Versus the Goodbye," was up slightly from the first, "Chuck Versus Sarah." Following, Dateline (4.4 million, 1.1) took the 10 p.m. slot.

Meanwhile, Fox's Fringe also saw an uptick on Friday, rising to 3.4 million viewers and a 1.2, the latter up a tenth from the previous two outings. Lead-in Kitchen Nightmares (3.4 million, 1.4) matched in viewership, but had a higher demo.

For the night, ABC topped primetime with an average rating of 1.6, winning each hour. An original episode of Shark Tank (5.4 million, 1.6) was the night's second highest-rated program, behind newsmagazine What Would You Do? (5.2 million, 1.7). 20/20 (5.7 millino, 1.5) aired at 10 p.m.
