Beginning Sunday travelers who take the railway will find it cheaper to get a refund. The Chinese Ministry of Railways has cut the fee for refunding a ticket from 20% of the ticket's face value to just 5%. China adopted the old refund rule of charging a fifth of the ticket price back in 1997, but the high cost of returning a ticket has been met with some criticism. Under the new rule the lowest refund fee will be two yuan or just over 30 cents.
