What are you listening to? It sounds very lively. This is Irish music, the type usually played in bars for celebrations. But there are many different kinds of Irish music, you know. What instruments do they use for this kind of music? The human voice is the oldest instrument we know, so as we expect, there is a very old tradition of songs in Irish music. So, in old Irish music they always sang? The oldest Irish songs were sung A Capella. The voice was also used as an instrument for accompanying dancers when no instruments were available. If instruments were available, what did they use? I've heard of something called the Irish bagpipes. Are they like the Scottish ones? Irish bagpipes are a very different instrument from their more famous cousin, the Highland bagpipes played by military bands. I see, any others? The violin? Yes, the fiddle is extremely popular, that's what they are playing in this song.
