藉网站设计提升搜寻排名

Individuals and companies are discovering effective ways to woo online users to their websites

Jennifer Boulden's site, Ideal Bite, offers sponsored tips on eco-living and is the top listing on Internet search engine Google when her company name is searched. But she knows that isn't enough to stand out. She wants to be found in other search categories, like Green Living Tips and Healthy Living.

Sure, she could buy her way to the top, with sponsored, ____1____search ads on Google. But as a young company with just four employees, she'd rather devote her resources to free listings. So she works other parts of the web.

She knows that the footprints she leaves in places like MySpace and Craigslist help to achieve
her ____  2  ____: getting her site to rise on Google, which so dominates Internet search that it had a 59 percent share of searches in May 2006. Google attracts nearly 100 million visitors a month.

The blogging revolution

Simply creating a website for your company isn't enough anymore. With 75,000 new blogs being created every day, the blogging revolution and the ___3___ of Internet search-Americans conducted 6.6 billion searches online in April 2006-give firms many more avenues for exposure. "You have to go into every nook and cranny of the web and [use] __4__ and __5__ until you find what works," says Boulden, who co-runs the company from Bozeman, Montana, while partner Heather Stephenson is in New York City.

In just one year, the number of blog discussions about business has increased to 36,000 a day from 13,000, says Technorati. "If you are intending to build a profile online, a website alone won't cut it anymore," says Rand Fishkin, CEO of website consulting firm SEOmoz.
