Ingredients:

1/3杯 糯米

100g肉糜

1 tbsp [en]Cornstarch
[/en]
1大勺 玉米淀粉

1 tbsp Dried Shrimps
1大勺 干虾

1 tbsp Chopped spring onions
1大勺葱花

1/2 Egg white
1-2个蛋白

1/2 tsp Salt
1-2小勺盐

1/3 tbsp Sugar
1-3大勺白糖


Method:

1. Soak the glutinous rice in water for at least 2-4 hours. Drain well in a sieve or colander. Make sure the rice is dry before using.

2. Mince or grind the pork if not using ground pork. Soak the dried shrimps in water for 20 minutes. Drain and chop. Chop the spring onions finely.

3. Combine in a bowl with ground pork, cornstarch, sugar, and the salt. Mix until they are well-blended.

4. Take about 1 tablespoon and form into a ball. Continue with the rest of the pork mixture. Roll the pork balls lightly over the dried glutinous rice until they are completely coated.

5. Place the meatballs on a heatproof dish 1-inch apart. Place the dish on a rack in a pot, cover, and steam over boiling water for between 10-15 minutes.

6. Pearl balls are normally served with soy sauce.
