Republican John Boehner has assumed the gavel as speaker of the House, drawing the curtain on the history-making Nancy Pelosi era. Pelosi, a Democrat, was the first woman to rise to the speaker's post.

The man who served as White House Press Secretary since President Barack Obama took office says he is leaving by early next month. Robert Gibbs will become an outside political adviser. The move comes as Obama ushers in a broad shake up of his senior leadership.

Idaho Lottery officials say one of the two Mega Millions tickets was sold in Post Falls. The other was sold about 125 miles away in Ephrata, Washington. The winners will share a $380 million jackpot.

And a homeless man for golden voice has a lot of words to talk about. The Cleveland Cavaliers offered Ted Williams a job after a video of him in viral. NFL Films and others are also interested in picking up Williams.
