If you've ever pounded city pavements and wondered what's lurking underneath, then have a peek at these revealing photos.

Slovakian-born, London-based photographer Tomas Sentpetery decided to delve into some of Europe's most popular tourist destinations and show a side people rarely see.

His photo series titled 'Look Deeper' juxtaposes street shots with images taken below the surface.

For his project, Mr Sentpetery hit five spots including London, Paris, Krakow, Naples and Spain's southern coast.

Armed with a selection of camera gear from Nikon, he explored and captured the extraordinary places that live beneath familiar locations.

From the stunning Wieliczka salt mines near Krakow to the ancient Bourbon tunnels winding beneath the region of Naples, the images show there are still unexpected places to be explored.

Mr Sentpetery said: 'There are hidden worlds all around us and I wanted to show there is more to popular tourist destinations than we might expect.'

Offering some words of advice to other budding travel photographers, he concluded: 'Do your research before you travel and don't be afraid to look deeper.

'With the right kit and a thirst for adventure it’s possible to deliver stand-out travel photography.'
