The picture was taken by Jeffrey Martin, founder of , over a three day period from the top of the 36 story Central Point building at the crossroads of Oxford Street and Tottenham Court Road.

Martin took nearly 8,000 high resolution photographs then used 3,000 of them, which he stitched together to create a single image.
