1. put one's foot down

【原句】That's it, I am marching over there and putting my foot down with Max.  (S03E15)

【讲解】

march v. 行进；前进；进发；使同行；游行示威。

put one's foot down 坚决反对某人想做的事。

【例句】

After a rest, they marched on.

2. ice out

【讲解】

ice out（在社交场合）使…受冷遇;不理睬，排斥。

cut no ice with sb.对某人没有影响；对某人不起作用。put sth. on ice把某事搁置起来。

【例句】

Distractions, such as TV and computer, cut on ice with the students who are wholly devoted to study.

诸如电视、电脑等分散注意力的事物，对于专注于学习的学生而言却是毫无影响可言。

The deal was put on ice for three months.

该交易被搁置了3个月。
